Bluebird Care jobs in South Tyneside offer Career Progression and Transferable Life Skills

At Bluebird Care South Tyneside we pride ourselves on the level of training that we offer to our staff during their induction period and throughout their career.

Louise Wailes, one of our Field Care Supervisors, joined Bluebird Care four years ago and has taken part in many training programmes during her career with us.  The knowledge and skills has not only enabled her career progression, but has helped her to care for her husband.

Louise said: “I think the training was most important for me because my husband's old GP had him on 100mg of morphine per day. When I started working with end-of-life customers I noticed that they were only on 30mg per day which made me realise something wasn't quite right with my husband's medication.

We then got my husband a new GP and asked if we could revisit the amount of morphine he was on. The new GP was in total agreement that it was unbelievable the amount of medication that my husband was on. It made him seem a lot more poorly than he actually was.

I was able to recognise this thanks to my training with Bluebird Care. The training is just invaluable. I hate to think where my family would have been now, three years later, if I hadn’t had all of the knowledge I’ve gained while working at Bluebird Care.”

Being a Healthcare Assistant is perfect for anybody looking for a career that offers life-saving knowledge, fulfilment and a sense of community.
