What is Parkinson’s Disease?
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years. According to Parkinson’s UK, there are around 145,000 people who live with Parkinson’s in the UK and it’s the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world.
Parkinson’s develops when dopamine cells in the brain stop working and are lost over time. When the brain cannot make enough dopamine to control movement properly, then symptoms begin to appear.
