Bluebird Care South Tyneside supported John who suffered from Motor Nueron Disease which also offered some resptie to his wife Julie. John was a fit man. He was a field hockey player who competed at the 1964 summer Olympics and played hockey all his life. It was while he was playing that he noticed his arms and hands becoming weaker. John was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease at the age of 77 and died five years later. We started to care for John about six months after he was diagnosed. He required two carers who were with him right to the end.
Overall I feel the care provided for my husband has been excellent. All the carers have been sensitive to my husband's needs, skilled in handling skills when transferring him from wheelchair to bed etc and very useful to me by teaching me how to use hoists and suggesting how to cope with my husband's needs such as skincare. I also find the carers are very supportive to me when my role is particularly stressful.

North Lizard Riding School
North Lizard is an approved and accredited BHS riding school, offering total beginners to experienced riders superb days out in the countryside!
They offer a range of lessons, group lessons, and treks, on carefully selected horses and ponies to suit you and your ability. These lessons are available 7 days a week, including some evenings! This is a great way to socialise with other horse lovers and to keep active. Also available are Pony Care days, where you can have a riding lesson, a hack out, receive a lecture, and at the end collect a rosette!
North Lizard Riding School caters for occasional visitors who want to improve their horse riding ability and for regular riders who want to learn from the beginning, or for those who are coming back to the sport to re-learn their skills and regain their fitness levels.
