When I called initially, it was because mum wasn’t receiving good care and in fact, she kept on turning the carers away because she didn’t like them. What a difference! E is so patient and firm with mum and mum is so fond of her, you can see she really enjoys her company. In fact, she often takes more notice of her than she does of me. Typical! I honestly don’t know what I would have done if I’d been on my own.
Some people only need support with light housework, perhaps some company or help in the bath or shower. Equally others need more help from us in a range of areas including medication, infirmity, illness and mobility and we can help with all these things!
Our Care Assistants are not only lovely but also trained in a wide range of areas and have been helping people across the borough in similar circumstances for many years.
I know I have said it before but I just want to say again just how much I appreciate Bluebird's help. The carers are wonderful and also a big thank you to all the staff at the office who work hard to make things happen behind the scenes. I really don't know how I would manage without your help.
How does it work?
Once you call us, we will arrange to come and have a chat with you to find out how we might help you. You tell us what support would make the difference to you and between us we’ll come up with a plan. If you agree, we’ll choose and introduce you to your carer and then go from there, tweaking along the way as and when we need to.
You shouldn’t be embarrassed if a part of what you need is personal care although we know it’s only natural. If that person becomes a trusted friend and it means you can maintain much of your independence and stay living at home, then it’s worth it…and nothing to be embarrassed about.
