Bluebird Care Wandsworth work with and support a host of associated organisations throughout the Borough including Regenerate Rise for the Isolated Elderly in Putney, St Michaels in Battersea, Royal Trinity Hospice in Balham, St Georges Hospital in Tooting and Carers Centre in Wandsworth. 

We are proud to be in partnership with Carers Centre forming Carers Partnership, providing much needed Respite care throughout Wandsworth.

Advice, Advocacy, Respite & Dementia Services

Bluebird Care Wandsworth and Wandsworth Carers' Centre have joined forces to create the Carers' Partnership Wandsworth.  Caring for a family member with health problems is an unpaid role that often goes unrecognised.  Together, we aim to support these unsung heroes with advice, Respite and advocacy.

Wandsworth Carers Centre is the lead provider of Carers Partnership Wandsworth providing Information, Advice and Advocacy, Peer Support and Companionship.

Bluebird Care provide formal Respite for Carers.

Respite Care Service

We provide a Respite care service free of charge to eligible Carers to enable them to take short breaks away from their caring role.  Carers who are eligible can access up to a maximum of 52 hours of respite care in a nine month period.

The service is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days per week and referrals are accepted between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.

Who is this service for?

This service is targeted at those Carers with little support available from other sources e.g. Carers without family and close friends or where family and friends are unable to help due to issues such as distance, work, family or other commitments.

Additional criteria 

• Carers need a break
• The cared for person cannot be left alone for periods of time
• Carers are under particular stress
• Short-term additional stress e.g. temporary loss of support while a family member or friend is on holiday/unavailable
• Short-term support is required while other support systems are put in place

Bluebird Care Wandsworth are privileged to be a preferred provider of End of life care for the Wandsworth Care Coordination Centre.
 
The Wandsworth Care Coordination Centre is a partnership between Royal Trinity Hospice, Marie Curie and St George’s Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The aim of the Centre is to ensure people with a progressive, life limiting illness can access the services and support they need from one place so they can be cared for in their own home or care home.  

Royal Trinity Hospice provides skilled, compassionate End of Life Care to individuals and support for families and carers in Wandsworth and across central and south west London.
 
Caring for people aged 18 years or over who have a progressive, incurable illness, many of their patients have cancer but others have long term conditions such as heart failure, lung or neurological conditions including motor neurone disease or multiple sclerosis.
 
Royal Trinity Hospice provide many aspects of care, including an inpatient unit, outpatient services, community services and support for families and carers of patients.
 
The Patient and Family Support Team can help patients, their families and their carers to adjust emotionally and practically to the impact of the illness and continue to provide support through to bereavement.  This team provides individual counselling/therapy, art therapy, family therapy, advocacy, practical planning and children’s advice and legal work.

London Fire Brigade

We are proud to partner with London Fire Brigade in Fire Prevention & Fire Safety.  This allows us to offer any of our customers who request it a visit from London Fire Brigade where they will install any necessary fire safety equipment and explain its uses.  This is a very vaulable and free service for all of our customers.
