So much so that, together with Carers Centre Wandsworth, we are The Carers Partnership, delivering companionship and respite care, day in day out, to families just like yours, who once shared the same thoughts and fears as you and now wonder how on earth they ever survived without us!
We completely understand that juggling everyday life and spreading yourself too thinly by caring for someone close can feel exhausting and relentless and emotions such as guilt, resentment and anxiety are hard to shake. We know only too well that the closeness and relationship you once shared can feel as though it is lost forever.
D loves the care and company of Sheldean and has really enjoyed herself with her. This gives me peace of mind for future care as I know my wife is having a pleasant time. Keep up the fantastic work.
On top of all of this, it is hard to trust that someone else can help share the load. The nerve racking but normal questions in your head such as how do I know who I can trust? Will they do a good job? Will they be accepted by the person needing the support? Am I a bad person for needing outside help?
