Supporting International Women's Day at Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees.

What is International Women's Day?

We live in a world where gender is one of the most controversial and most talked about topics, with new ways of thinking and living being introduced every day. International Women's Day aims to celebrate our differences and encourage inclusivity and diversity. It is a day to acknowledge the hard work that has gone into, and is still being put into, creating a world where everyone gets treated fairly and equally - where we are all independent, valued, and accepted.

Why is it important?

Equality and Women's Rights have never been more prominent within our society. With new walks of life constantly being introduced, it has never been more imperative to practice, teach, and learn about gender equality and rights. As a company that consists of strong and hard-working women as young as 18, we feel it is beneficial to speak about topics like this and to encourage our team to be proud of their achievements and who they are.

How are we showing our support?

At Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees, we believe in building a positive environment for our staff and customers by showing compassion and understanding, and respecting the feelings of others while supporting everyone's right to make their own decisions.

All our recruitment and onboarding processes are free of discrimination and prejudice - as they should be. We are much more interested in what a candidate has in their heart than what they have on their CV. Not only do we provide fully paid training, opening our vacancies to everyone regardless of previous experience, but we also support them to gain extra qualifications to further their careers.

We believe in the fair and compassionate treatment of our employees, making us a refreshing and inspiring place to work. We believe that it is due to this inclusivity that we were awarded Employer of the Year twice in two years.

Narinder Gill, Director of Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees, commented:

As we continue our journey in moving to a world without bias, I want to reflect on today: a celebration of how far we have come and how we can use our platforms and voices to continue to champion gender equality. Let’s consciously open doors and lift those around us and make the world a better place by eradicating gender bias.

We think this perfectly sums up the meaning of International Women's Day and the hard work that has gone into creating a new, equal, better world.

At Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees, we know the importance of equality. We want to help build a society without bias, and open doors for everyone. Contact us today to join a team that supports, understands, and values its staff - #EmbraceEquity
