Prioritising Mental Health

We believe in making mental health just as much of a priority as physical health.

Mental Health Awareness Week - 13 to 19 May 2024

Did you know that One in every four adults in the UK has been affected by mental turmoil at some point in their lifetime? It's impossible to know who might be struggling with an internal battle - your friends? Parent? Partner? As a mindful employer, it's our job to ensure our staff never struggle alone.

We put the health of our staff and customers above all else, irrespective of age, race, or gender.

Many people believe mental illnesses aren't as serious as others, but that couldn't be further from the truth! Your state of mind can play a huge part in deciding how well you can perform in other aspects of life. Your work ethic, family life, and even your physical wellness can all become compromised if you don't take care of your mental state first.

But how do we know when our mental health might be suffering? Sometimes spotting the signs can be easier said than done, but if you've been feeling down lately, and less like yourself, you might want to consider making a change. Self-care sounds simple enough, but it can be hard to find the time to take a breath and do something just for yourself. Sometimes something as simple as enjoying a warm bubble bath can instantly relax the body and mind.

We always encourage our staff to speak openly about their feelings, offering monthly one-to-one supervisions for every member of staff. More often than not, all someone needs is to be listened to and to feel understood, and we are constantly taking steps towards creating a healthier, more mindful environment for them to do just that.

We want to make sure our team and customers know how important it is to prioritise their mental health this Mental Health Awareness Week!

Remember: your mental health is important and your feelings are valid. At Bluebird Care, we don't want anyone to struggle in silence, which is why we always prioritse mental health for both our staff and our customers.
