Honouring Harry Gration

Today we celebrate the long, successful life of Harry Gration, a man who meant a great deal to everyone - including Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees.

Harry Gration, Regional News Presenter, touched the lives of many people in Yorkshire and this included the team at Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees. We are pleased that we will be able to celebrate his life on Yorkshire Day at the York Minster.

We met with Harry in 2021, when we attended the Business Excellence Awards. Harry handed our Director, Narinder Gill, our award for Employer of the Year. It was truly excellent to speak with him, and Narinder thoroughly enjoyed telling Harry all about our core values here at Bluebird Care Wakefield and Kirklees. (You can see below a video that was taken during the event.)

Harry was very welcoming of us and keen to hear everything we had to say about the importance and significance of the care industry. As a home care company, it is imperative that we are able to make as many people as possible aware of the help and support that is available to them, including our own services. Harry Gration made this possible for us, and for that we are so grateful.

Thank you so much for giving [domiciliary care] the attention that it needs. One day we will all need care, and we want to promote the wonderful work our care assistants do to prevent older people going into the hospital and instead remaining in their own homes.

The support of the Business Excellence Awards, and Harry Gration for his welcoming and insightful hosting, allowed us to share the importance of the services that we offer – to allow elderly and vulnerable people to remain in their own homes while being cared for with dignity and respect.

So, Harry Gration, we thank you for your work and for your amazing support.

Our hearts are with Harry’s family at this time, who should all be very proud of Harry for his dedication, his kind heart, and his contributions to our community.
