Not sure what to do after your A Level results? Have you considered a job in care? Bluebird Care could offer you that post-school work/life balance you’re looking for.

A Level results day is an exciting and often daunting milestone in every 18-year-olds life. Your whole school career has been leading up to this point – but now what? There’s no shortage of options available, but it can be confusing to know what to do.

Here are some of the most popular things you can do. And remember, what you do at 18 doesn’t mean it’s something you’ll still be doing in 10 years or 20. There are opportunities everywhere and people and businesses championing you at every turn.

Further education

Are you thinking about heading into further education? You’re not alone, around 37.9% of A Level students carry on their studies. Whilst a university degree isn’t necessary for many jobs, there are some careers that have a demand for further education.

Even if you’re unsure of what you want to do, if you have a passion for a certain subject why not deepen your knowledge? And remember, uni isn’t just about education. It gives you a chance to meet and mix with people from different backgrounds, experience life as ‘an adult’ in a safe environment and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Find an apprenticeship

Apprenticeships are a great option if you’re looking to gain some vital hands-on experience while making money at the same time. Apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications without the fuss of tuitions fees. Young people often decide that an apprenticeship is the perfect solution for them because it incorporates earning a living as well as gaining extra qualifications. In fact, there was a huge 161,900 apprenticeship starts between August 2020 and January 2021l!

Go travelling

You’ve completed your SATs, GCSEs and now A Levels, so you deserve a huge pat on the back! Perhaps it’s time to leave education behind for a little while and explore what else is out there? Most COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted around the world, so there’s no reason why you shouldn’t take some time for yourself to relax and unwind, if that’s what you want to do. Some might even say travelling is just as beneficial for young people as any job, uni, or apprenticeship.

You won’t ever be as free as you are right now so if there was ever a perfect time to pack up your things and disappear for a while, it’s now.

Get a job

Many young people elect to get a full-time job after college. There are many options out there for people in your shoes – young, passionate, ready to make a difference. Finding jobs has never been as easy as it is today with platforms such as Indeed, Linked-in, and even Facebook advertising their job vacancies.
