Working in Partnership

One of our aims for 2017 was to look at ways in which we could further work with partners in Wakefield to ensure that our customers could continue to live safely at home.

One of our aims for 2017 was to look at ways in which we could further work with partners in Wakefield to ensure that our customers could continue to live safely at home. We have been pleased with the progress we have made and these include so far:

Safer Projects: West Yorkshire Joint Services

Although we know that anyone can fall for a scam, vulnerable people (such as older people) are especially susceptible and more likely to be targeted. All of our staff are now trained by experts on being able to recognise what to watch out for, passing some simple tips and being able to alert is necessary authorities for prompt support and further guidance.

West Yorkshire Crime Prevention Officer (CPO)

We are working with the CPO to help identify neighbourhood watched and inform them on vulnerable people living within the neighbourhood. We also support the CPO with updating systems with any concerns we may come across.

West Yorkshire Fire Service

We always carry out a fire home safety check as part of our fire risk assessment. In addition to this we are pleased to share that we now have partnership with WYFS whereby we can refer people to the fire service for them to complete their own additional assessment and provide the necessary changes to the customer’s home.

Herbert Proctor - Living with dementia support

This year we have also introduced the Herbert Proctor which gives us the opportunity to liaise with local police and have a professional package to hand to them to ensure swift and co-ordinated police response happens if someone is missing.
