Many congratulations to our Care Assistant Tess Gough who won Home Support and Day Carer of the Year at the Richmond Council Dignity in Care Awards.

In all 80 carers, of whom 20 were Bluebird Care care assistants, were nominated for the award. It’s a great honour to be nominated as it is customers, their family, friends and any professionals associated with the person who take the time to fill in the nominations and send them to the council.

Tess received four separate nominations. The judges read out one of her nominations, detailing how she works as the main carer for a gentleman with a brain tumour. She has transformed his life; showing kindness, respect and ceaseless energy to make sure that he receives the best possible care and providing guidance and assistance to other carers to ensure that the support provided is consistent and focussed on the needs of the customer.

It’s the fifth year consecutive she has been nominated and she is delighted to have finally won.

We’re very proud of all of our care assistants and Tess is an example to us all of the fantastic work that they do.

As a company, we were delighted to receive a certificate from the council, acknowledging the work that we do to promote dignity in care across the borough.
