We are taking part in the trek26 North York Moors for Alzheimer’s society to raise money and spread awareness for people affected by dementia.

We are taking part in the trek26 North York Moors for Alzheimer’s society to raise money and spread awareness for people affected by dementia.

The 26-mile route will start up at Abbey Farm Showfield with stunning views of the famous gothic Whitby Abbey. Both route offers stunning views of the coast and the moors, taking you through cobbled streets, fields, woodland, villages and lots of coastline.

You will follow part of the old railway route from Whitby, walking along the well-maintained paths of The Cinder Track to the picturesque village, Robin Hood's Bay.

The 26 mile route will continue further down the coast before heading back up via the Cleveland Way path.

We will be fundraising as a team and are hoping to hit our target prior to the walk!

As a home care company, we believe in doing as much as possible to spread awareness for diseases which affect everyone around us and especially our desired customers. This long walk will show our commitment to the amazing charity which is Alzheimer’s Society.

More about Alzheimer’s Society

“At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future.”

The Four Priorities

Their priorities are clear: to increase dementia diagnosis rates and build the mechanisms to get people seamless support.

They want to make sure they can do that for more people by having deep levels of involvement, co-designing and co-producing with people with dementia across the entire organisation.

The charity is all about spreading awareness and reaching out to as many as possible. Hopefully within our 26 mile, we are able to spread the message and raise money for a charity that is very special to many of us at Bluebird Care.
