Introduction to Bluebird Care
Here at Bluebird Care Darlington, South Durham and Yarm we passionately believe in helping people who want to stay in their own homes for as long as possible.
Following on from the success of our other two offices in South Tyneside & Newcastle, husband and wife team David and Kelly Haswell have extended their award-winning and outstanding rated care services into the areas throughout Darlington, South Durham and Yarm.
Back in 2010, David had seen the impact that poor quality, inconsistent, and sometimes non-existent home care had on his grandparents, as well as the whole family. He realised that although there were some brilliant people working in the industry, they were not given the time, the support, or reward to be able to deliver the care and support they wanted.
The stress, anxiety and frustration that the whole experience had caused didn’t sit well with him, and he started asking the question, that surely there must be a better way to do this?
So the journey began, David along with his with wife Kelly, made it their mission to provide a service that challenges the status quo, they made a commitment to be able offer an alternative to the task based, high volume, soulless and poor customer service options that were on offer.
David was very clear that he had no industry experience except for being on the receiving end and seeing it through the customers eyes, so he realised that he needed to partner with someone who shared his vision and would give him the framework to get started. The relationship with Bluebird Care was born.

Over the last 10 years David and Kelly have opened their service up to those communities across South Tyneside, Newcastle and most recently in June 2020 Darlington, South Durham and Yarm. Their commitment and drive remain the same as their first day, to ensure that we offer the very best support and care to our customers and create an environment where our Bluebirds can thrive. Together, this creates a special service that brings, happiness, joy, comfort and independence to our customers, so they live the life they want, how they want, in the comfort of their own home.
