Bluebird Care Sevenoaks is supporting Carers Week 2022

NEWS RELEASE: June 2022

Local homecare provider hosts ‘Open Week’ for National Carers’ Week!

Bluebird Care Sevenoaks is running its own ‘Open Week’ during National Carers Week 2022 to give local people the opportunity to find out more about a career in care.

Running from 6th – 10th June, anyone is welcome to pop into their office at 87 St John’s Hill between 10am – 4pm each day.

Carers Week highlights the challenges carers may face as well as the contributions they make to their community. The campaign is supported by individuals and organisations across the UK by promoting the importance of caring.

3 in 4 carers feel their caring role is not understood or even valued by their community, at Bluebird Care Sevenoaks we hope to raise awareness of the support available to unpaid carers across the local community.

Research conducted by Carers UK has found that during the coronavirus lockdown, 70% of carers have been providing extra care to loved ones and 55% of carers felt burnt-out and overwhelmed by the additional pressure.

This Carers Week is about coming together to focus on “Making Caring Visible”. The aim is to ensure that carers get the right information, advice and support they need from services and the general public.

Becky Clements, Registered Manager at Bluebird Care Sevenoaks, said:

“Carers have played a vital role in the coronavirus pandemic. Support, recognition and appreciation needs to be given.

Carers Week highlights the challenges carers can face and the support they might need. We hope that by supporting this campaign it will provide help to those caring in our local area and make them aware of the support that is available to them.

Caring can be a hugely rewarding experience but sometimes carers find it challenging to take care of their own well-being whilst caring.”
