Electronic care plan management

Technology is a wonderful thing! At Bluebird Care Sevenoaks, our staff now follow digital Care plans on their mobile phones using the PASSsystem – a far more efficient, secure and reliable system than the paper ones it replaced.

The PASSsystem allows Care Assistants to update care notes and medication records instantly, and facilitates near real-time transfer of this information back to staff in the office. Changes to Care plans, following a review meeting with a customer, can be similarly recorded by Supervisors and made "live" at the push of a button.

With the PASSsystem, we are better positioned to make informed decisions, take quicker action where required, and are able to offer a safer, more responsive, more consistent service as a result.


Monitoring Your Care

The PASSsystem also has a sister app, openPASS, which gives approved relatives, advocates or neighbours remote access to care plans, care notes, weekly rosters and staff attendance times.

openPASS is available for free download from the Apple and Google Play stores and is accessible via mobile, tablet and online at www.openpass.com.

Openness and transparency are important ideals to us. The introduction of openPASS to our service brings peace of mind to families who can rest assured knowing that their loved one(s) is being well-cared for, a benefit especially valued by those who do not live locally and are unable to pop round to check in on them in person.

In the future, it is hoped that openPASS will be able to extend the secure connection of relevant information to other healthcare professionals involved in our customers’ Care, such as their GP and local District Nurse teams.

Communication is excellent, particularly with the use of the openPASS app, we can see daily who is due and when, together with post-visit notes.
