Congratualtions to Danielle, who becomes the first of our team to be awarded the new Care Certificate qualification.

Congratualtions to Danielle, who becomes the first of our team to be awarded the new qualification. From April, 2015, we are training all new staff to the Care Certificate standards, as well as re-assessing the training needs and ramping up our offering of on-going training to existing staff.

Is your Care Provider on board? If not, get in touch!

The Care Certificate, launched in April, 2015, is a new set of rigorous standards to which all new health and social care workers are being trained, and to which they are expected to adhere during their daily working lives.

The Care Certificate is designed to give purchasers of Care services the confidence that all care workers have the same minimum standard set of skills, degree of knowledge and proven competencies to be able to provide compassionate, safe and high quality care and support.

The Care Certificate is based on 15 standards, all of which need to be completed in full before an individual can be awarded their certificate:

  • Understand your role
  • Your personal development
  •  Duty of care
  • Equality and diversity
  • Work in a person centred way
  • Communication
  • Privacy and dignity
  • Fluids and nutrition
  • Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disability
  • Safeguarding adults
  • Safeguarding Children
  • Basic Life Support
  • Health and Safety
  • Handling information
  • Infection prevention and control

Congratulations once again to Danielle!
