Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford spreaded Easter cheer by organising an exciting competition for children in the local community.

Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford have been spreading Easter cheer by organising an exciting competition for children in the local community.

Children aged 2 to 12 were invited to take part in a "Design an Easter Egg" contest, where they could show off their creativity. All those who took part were given a blank paper easter egg to decorate with colouring pencils in the hope of winning the large chocolate egg surprise.

Entries were submitted to the local home care provider’s offices, and the entries were displayed on the office windows, making it a joy for everyone passing by to see.

The competition was judged by Bluebird Care customer Sylvia, aged 94. Sylvia, owner of a local travel agency founded in 1971, said:

“I was very honoured to be asked to judge the competition. It was so difficult to choose as they were all so imaginative and clever.”

Eight-year-old Kacey was crowned the proud winner of the competition thanks to her stand out design.  Kacey was delighted to take home her giant easter egg first prize!

Kellie, Registered Manager, at Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford said:

“We have all really enjoyed cracking open a fantastic Easter colouring competition for the children from our local schools.  They let their creativity run wild, and it’s really brightened up our office windows to have all the colourful eggs on display. It was a tough call, but we finally hatched a plan to pick the winner by calling upon our ‘Eggs-pert’ judge Sylvia to decide the winner. Congratulations to Kelcey and her winning design, and to everyone who got involved - all the entries were truly inspiring, bursting with colour and imagination!”
