I joined Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford in April 2016, I was attracted to work for Bluebird Care as I had been told by a friend what a good company it was to work for. From reading the Bluebird Care website I learnt of the opportunities to progress with my career within the company and also awas intruged by the team ethos.

I have now worked in the care industry for over 7 years.
When I started out I applied for a care assistant role in a domiciliary company in Chelmsford.
Here, I spent a time working with a range of different customers, tailoring my skills and knowledge to a range of different needs. After much time working in this role and gaining the experience necessary I was promoted to field care supervisor this job role allowed me to travel all over Essex; carrying out essential risk assessments, spot checks on care staff and learning how to write reflective customer care plans.
I then joined the Bluebird Care team where I worked as care co-ordinator, my role as co-ordinator allowed me to get to know my customer base as well as develop a relationship with the care assistants. It was so important to me that I matched the right care assistant with the right customer to achieve the best possible out come. After successfully co-ordinating for a period of time I was asked how I would feel about fulfilling the vacant office manager role. I was delighted that the directors had recognized my skills and abilities. Today I enjoy managing a hard working office team, listening to and assisting with customer query's and also ensuring that the care assistants of Bluebird Care Southend and Rochford are trained to a high standard.

During my years of care I have gained my NVQ Level 3 in health and social care. I am currently studying for my Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care, and I am further qualified in 'Train - the Trainer Medication'.
I love to work in the community that I live, I feel a great sense of reward knowing that through the work I do I am giving back to my community.
As manager it is important I work efficiently and effectively, and always have time to listen to any staff member or customer - I enjoy drawing on the knowledge learn in my NVQ to answer any questions that may arise.
