Excellence In Training - Amy's Blog

We have a thorough and in-depth training programme for all our Care Assistants that is led by our Training Manager Amy. This initial training programme encompasses the first three months of employment and over the next few months we will be sharing the support that each staff member receives as they start their journey with us.

Helping Our Community Stay Safe With Our #KeepHydrated Campaign

Following this month’s record-breaking heat wave, we have launched  #KeepHydrated, our ‘Summer Hydration’ campaign to protect vulnerable people from the harmful effects of heat and sun exposure.   As part of the campaign, older people, their families, friends and neighbours across Rother & Hastings are being urged to think seriously about staying hydrated this summer.

Deputy Mayor Cllr Rebecca Gilbert Opens Our New Training Suite!

We are absolutely delighted to announce the opening of our brand new simulation training suite here in our offices in Bluebird Care Rother and Hastings Deputy Mayor Cllr Rebecca Gilbert! As we strive to deliver the highest standard of care to our customers, our training suite is geared to providing our staff with an extremely high standard of hands on training throughout their career. Named Bluebird Cottage, the suite is modelled on a Bluebird Care customer and the care plan is created around their life to help give that real life experience!

Launching Our New Employee Benefit Scheme

We are delighted to announce that we have recently launched a new cashback scheme to benefit our incredible team of Care Assistants. The new scheme is very easy to use as all our team needs to do is send their receipt and a form to the provider and they refund straight back into their bank account as well enjoying as a range of discounts.

Skydiving To Success!

We are tremendously proud of Care Assistant Kerry, who has recently completed a skydive for St Michael's Hospice in Hastings & Rother. We have very close links with St Michael's Hospice and are delighted to have been able to support Kerry as she braved the dizzy heights!

Ensuring Our Customers Are Safe

We have recently been running a campaign to raise awareness of fire safety. With recent statistics showing a 20% increase in deaths from fire in the UK, we wanted to make sure that our customers were safe. As part of this our Care Assistants and office staff have been visiting customers to test their smoke alarms and make sure that precautions or plans are in place should they ever be needed.
