Meet the team
Graham’s background is in business, where he trained as an architect and ran a busy Architectural practice, before using his management expertise to build and run a national charity in outdoor education and training.
He likes to support vulnerable people, and now uses his business and problem solving skills to ensure the Bluebird Care team are resourced and equipped to deliver high quality care for our customers.
Graham also wants to build strategic partnerships across the private and public sectors, to provide joined up services in Health and Social care, which are innovative and cost effective in meeting individual needs for the most vulnerable people.
Outside work Graham likes sailing, has been walking the Cornish Coast path with Carol, and is involved in community life through local church and club activities.
Carol is passionate about care in the community with 30 years NHS experience as a Health Visitor working with elderly, families and children. She loves to meet individual needs, finding solutions and bringing relief to improve quality of life for those who need it most.
Her second love is for teaching and mentoring, passing on her knowledge to a generation of student Nurses, Health Visitors and now Care Workers, encouraging them to provide the high standards of care she expects of herself.
She also has practical management expertise, working in multi-agency Health and Social Care teams, to encourage joined up services which can deliver high quality, person-centred care throughout the community.
At Bluebird Care Mid and West Cornwall, Carol sees these passions fulfilled in overseeing and supporting a skilled work force of carers to provide consistently high standards of care for our customers, who rely on us for meeting their daily needs.
Away from work, Carol keeps up with family and friends, and likes contributing to local church and community life. She has been walking the Cornish Coast path in easy stages, and enjoys fair weather sailing in warm places.
Registered Operations Manager
I have worked within Health and Social Care for over twenty years, with a focus on working with people with learning disabilities, hearing loss, mental ill health, dual sensory impairment and the elderly. I have experience in managing Registered Care Homes and Domiciliary Care, and came to Bluebird Care as I saw it as an opportunity to develop professionally and to be an integral part of the growth and development of the company.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and young son. I also enjoy films, music, horse-riding and skiing.
Training & Development Coordinator
I have worked within Health and Social Care for the past fifteen years and prior to that I was a Manager and Trainer for a national bookmakers.
I like being able to share my knowledge, skills and experience with people who attend my training courses and I love getting out and about meeting our customers and team members.
When I'm not at work I enjoy painting and drawing and spending time with my family.
I moved to Cornwall in 1997 and spent most of my working life in the care industry and have a vast amount of experience within Domiciliary, learning disabilities, nursing and residential with a varied age range. I pride myself in providing person centred care in a very holistic way.
I completed my NVQ2 and 3 in 2008 and 2010. I then Graduated at Truro Cathedral in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Health, Community and Social Science.
I joined Blue Bird Care in November 2018 and currently manage the supported Living Packages of care. In my free time I enjoy spending quality time with my family and gardening.
Area Manager - Live In Care
I am Fiona, 53 years young. I am a mother of 7 and a Nana of 9, we have a dog called Margo and cats Colin and Mavis. I absolutely love my family and like so may others miss seeing them, so I now use technology to face time them so we can keep in touch and see each other. I have twins that are soon to be 15, so I am kept busy when home supporting them with their school work. I have lived in Norway and Singapore when I was young, lovely countries and would love to go back one day. I have completed all my qualifications at night school whilst working and being a mother as I was moved around as a child and this included American school's as well, which meant on return to the UK I was refused to take any GCSE's due to not being in the British education system.
I have been working in the care sector for over 30 years, I feel it is such a rewarding career and enjoy seeing others progress whether its staff or customers. I started in care doing nights in a nursing home, this was a great insight into care and enjoyed my time there. I then went on to work in the community, very different to the nursing home but lovely to see people in their own environment. Looking to broaden my knowledge I became a phlebotomist at RCHT, I then moved to Falmouth hospital and enjoyed the hospital environment and gained more insight into the nursing side of care. As I wanted to have experience in different settings I decided to take a job in a residential home as a deputy manager, here I saw how residents were able to benefit from an environment that was like a small community, with their own rooms and belongings but with social interaction if they wished to join in. Although I enjoyed this I felt I needed more of a challenge and that is when I went to a company that provided 24 hour care/support for people with brain injury's. I was there for many years as the registered manager and gained some life long friends and a customer who now are cared for by Bluebird Care. I joined Bluebird Care many years ago and it was the best thing I did, the experiences and support was great. I left for a couple of years to support my grandson and family, but I was fortunate to see an opportunity to return and even more blessed that I have been able to return to the nest.
I have a few hobbies, mostly craft and art (I spend most of any time I have free (when allowed) with my family). I enjoy reading, jigsaws, knitting, crochet, drawing, painting sewing and embroidery.
