Meet the team
I moved to Cornwall in 1997 and spent most of my working life in the care industry and have a vast amount of experience within Domiciliary, learning disabilities, nursing and residential with a varied age range. I pride myself in providing person centred care in a very holistic way.
I completed my NVQ2 and 3 in 2008 and 2010. I then Graduated at Truro Cathedral in 2017 with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Health, Community and Social Science.
I joined Blue Bird Care in November 2018 and currently manage the supported Living Packages of care.
In my free time I enjoy spending quality time with my family and gardening.
Area Manager - Live In Care
I have recently moved to Cornwall after living in Berkshire for most of my life. For most of my working life I have worked in care and for the past 20 years I have worked as a Deputy Manager in a Residential Home.
I enjoy meeting people and helping them make the most of their life. I would like to think I make a difference to individuals and help them be more independent, allowing for choice and respecting their privacy and dignity.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my two dogs, swimming in the sea, gardening and catching up with my family.
I am looking forward to my new venture with Bluebird and meeting new people!
I have worked in care for 5 years, and have been in management for 3 of those. I love working in care, management particularly as I like how varied each day is and like the challenges faced when trying to achieve positive outcomes for the people I support. I have acheived a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and my hobbies include photography, running & netball.
I have worked in care for the whole of my working life, worked thirty years with children with learning disabilities and high complex needs. I originally joined the Bluebird Care team as a care assistant as I felt I needed to know the way domiciliary care worked before taking on more of an office role, and am now working as one of the Area Managers for the company.
Out of working hours I enjoy spending time at home and like to spend time in doing any craft work that appeals at the time.I also like to travel.
Recruitment & Development Coordinator
I joined Bluebird Care because I wanted to help others and support them living in their own homes. From this I was offered an amazing opportunity to be the Development Coordinator for the company, which is great. I get to do some marketing, keeping everybody up to date on what is happening at Bluebird care and find new packages in the local area. I get involved in events that we hold and like to do the photography for these. I also help with visits when needed, so you could say I have the best of both worlds.
I completed my GNVQ in Health and Social Care and my BTEC National Diploma in Health Studies which led me to work with Children in Nurseries and schools, from that, I then worked in hospitality in which I gained a lot of experience in organising events and managing a team of my own.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family and friends and enjoying the lovely beaches that Cornwall has to offer with my husband and two dogs, Zak and Willow.
I have worked in the care and support sector for over 10 years, supporting people in the community and those in care homes. I enjoy meeting new people and supporting people to get the most out of life.
I work hard to ensure that I can always provide the best service possible.
When I’m not in work, I enjoy spending time in my garden pottering or on the beach walking our dog and getting the most out of our Cornish air.
