Jane raises funds for British Heart Foundation

As Jane turned 50, it only felt right to do something that would make a difference during her attendance at the annual conference. She encouraged 11 others to take a big sea dip to raise funds.

Our Director, Jane Perry, turned 50 this month and along with her other celebrations she wanted to take the opportunity to do something memorable for her birthday, particularly raise funds for something close to her heart (no pun intended).

Her charity of choice was the British Heart Foundation.

After losing several family members to sudden cardiac arrest, Jane’s family wanted to investigate further. The family went under several intensive tests, and it was found that they all shared the same heart defect. After finding this out, Jane and her family needed to have defibrillators fitted imminently.

This was quite a shock to the system, but Jane went ahead with the surgery and is now determined to live life as normal and to the fullest. She is always looking for ways to keep healthy, get her adrenalin fix and support the charity.

As Jane’s birthday is in September, the same month as the annual conference, she coordinated for her peers to do a Big Sea Dip in the cold Brighton Sea. They got up early and 12 of them plunged into the cold sea before they started the day.

It was a great event enjoyed by not only the 12 but the rest of their peers who still got up early to come and cheer them on. They raised a fantastic £5,790.

Who thinks this should be an annual event?
