Pete turns the big 7 0!

Our lovely Pete Jenson turned the big 70 and we just had to help him celebrate!

When it comes to home care, age really isn’t a factor. Pete is just an example of this, he’s not our oldest Care Assistant but he still turned 70 this year. How amazing is that? It’s not about age, it’s having the passion to want to help others.

Pete never thought he’d have a career in care, he ran his own business as a motor mechanic for 35 years, it was his dream job. Pete’s wife was diagnosed with MS. As she needed constant care and support, Pete made the difficult decision to give in his career so he could be there for his wife, he selflessly looked after her until she passed away.

After his experience, he decided to join Bluebird Care Edinburgh where he could care for others. He has a great story and it’s great to see so many people joining our team from all walks of life.

As Pete turned 70 this year, we had to help him celebrate. We invited Pete into the office for cake and to hand him a little gift to celebrate his birthday in style.

We managed to find out on the radar, that Pete was attending Tom Kitchin restaurant with his partner to celebrate his birthday. He already had a £100 voucher, so we matched it to ensure that they could both have a truly special birthday meal.

Pete even managed to score a picture with Tom Kitchin himself.
