Peter Jenson celebrates his 10-year anniversary with Bluebird Care Edinburgh, and we couldn’t be prouder. Why do you love working for Bluebird Care?

“It's fair to say, working for Bluebird care for ten years has been the least stressful of careers I could have chosen. The training and support has been second to none. The entire team has been very helpful and always at the other end of the phone when I’ve needed them”.

Why did you join Bluebird Care?

“I was the main carer for my wife for 20 years, so it felt the right move to make regarding my career. I love helping others and this gave me the perfect opportunity”.

“I’ll never forget the day I was awarded carer of the year. My team and customers put me forward for the award and I was extremely humbled to receive this, never in a million years did I think I’d receive anything like this. It just proved to me that I was doing my tasks to my best ability, and everyone was extremely appreciative, it makes it all worthwhile”.

What’s the best thing about being a Care Assistant for a Care at Home provider?

“I have to say the best part of my job is enabling customers to stay at home, in their familiar surroundings, is of the utmost importance to me. Care homes do a good job under strenuous conditions, but carers do not always have the necessary time to spend with people nor are the elderly able to go about their normal lives. Going into a person’s home, can be a little stressful for a customer, but ultimately it is better than a place you don’t know, for me this is what stands out”.
