On Thursday 6th October we were represented at the Integrated Care Partnerships Conference whose focus is ‘Working Together for Better Health’.  This conference provided an update on the work of the partnership since the last meeting in January and the improvements made in patient care in areas such as respiratory illnesses, stroke, frail and elderly, and diabetes.

The conference also focused on how the Community and Voluntary Sector play an essential part in shaping the Health and Well-being Agenda, and there was a representative from the Community Planning Department outlining their role and their commitment to the partnership.

The conference provided great insight into the benefits of all agencies (i.e. Statutory Health agencies and the Community and Voluntary Sector) working together to achieving the end result of better health for everyone.  Further forums and meetings are scheduled to continue the work of the partnership focusing on possible other areas of people’s health and well-being that can be part of the partnership future plans.
