RQIA Inspection Report

Our latest RQIA Inspection report - 'no areas for improvement were found'

The RQIA is the independent body responsible for monitoring and inspecting the quality and availability of health and social care services in Northern Ireland.  It is responsible for encouraging improvements within these services.

Our most recent Regulatory and Quality Improvement Agency (RQIA) inspection was unannounced, and took place on 23rd January 2023.

We were delighted to be informed that the Inspector found ‘no areas for improvement’.

The inspector looked at

  • Our governance and management arrangements, reviewing areas such as staff recruitment, professional registrations, staff induction and training, and adult safeguarding.
  • The reporting and recording of accidents and incidents, complaints, whistleblowing, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), service user involvement, restrictive practices,
  • Dysphagia management
  • Covid-19 guidance

Overall, the inspector reported that there were good governance and management arrangements in place. Good practice was identified in relation to service user involvement.

The Inspector spoke with Customers and staff members, and the feedback was very positive.
