Local Home Care Provider Celebrates HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with Charitable Donation

Bluebird Care Wakefield & Kirklees have come together with We Are Wakefield to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and raise funds for the Prince of Wales Hospice.
Bluebird Care Wakefield & Kirklees, a home care provider at the heart of the community, have come together with We Are Wakefield to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and raise funds for the Prince of Wales Hospice.
The Platinum Jubilee marks the Queen’s 70-year reign and is celebrated across the UK and Commonwealth with thousands of events and festivities.
Joining the millions of people celebrating during the long bank holiday, Care Assistants of Bluebird Care Wakefield & Kirklees joined up with their staff, customers, families and We Are Wakefield to host a celebration at their office, in anticipation of the Queen’s Jubilee Anniversary on the 2nd June.
Throughout the event, Bluebird Care Wakefield & Kirklees held a raffle, where prizes included luxury wines, hampers, and Ferrero Rocher chocolate. All donations will go to the Prince of Wales Hospice, with whom the home care provider has a long-lasting relationship.
On Sunday 29th May, the Wakefield & Kirklees team attended a Fun Day in Pontefract, to raise more vital funds for the hospice. It meant that this week alone, the home care provider has donated £242 to the Prince of Wales Hospice.
Narinder Gill, Director of Bluebird Care Wakefield & Kirklees, is proud of the support provided to customers, including premium home care services, home visits, live-in care, companionship and complex care plans.
Their customers enjoyed a selection of homemade British foods including sandwiches and wraps, cupcakes, a Victoria Sponge cake, and shortbreads. Guests included David Dinmore MBE DL, Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, who gave a heartfelt speech about his thoughts on the event.
On the event, he commented: “This is typical of the sort of community spirit that we enjoy in this country.”
