Bluebird Care supports Carers Rights Day 2019

Published: 05/11/2019

On 21st November Bluebird Care will be supporting Carers Rights Day.

Organised by Carers UK, the day aims to encourage carers in local communities to find out about their rights and how to get the help and support they need.

According to Carers UK, every day 6,000 people in the United Kingdom become carers. Whether they are caring for a family member or friend, caring for another is something that many people do not plan for, and so dealing with the pressure can be incredibly difficult. There are a whole range of issues that need to be managed from dealing with care providers, managing medication, support with mental health, all on top of their own daily lives, families, careers and finances.

Organised by Carers UK, Carer’s Rights Day aims to bring everyone together in support of carers across the UK. Whether it’s a new carer or someone who has been caring for a while, it’s important that carers understand their rights and are able to access the support that is available to them.

Each year, Carers Rights Day helps to:

  • ensure carers are aware of their rights

  • let carers know where to get help and support

  • raise awareness of the needs of carers.
