Why We Care

Published: 15/02/2018

Have you ever wondered how we start a career in care? How is it we come to do- and love- the job we do? What is it like to be a carer at Bluebird Care Mid and West Cornwall? We launched a competition to find out.....

It's no secret that Bluebird Care Mid and West Cornwall provide services for all manner of individuals- live In care, domiciliary care, supported living for those from all walks of life- children, the elderly, those with aquired brain injuries and those who need support with their mental health- the list is endless. Having a wide variety of customers however means that we also need a wide variety of people to support those customers and here at Bluebird we have have just that! Lets be honest, the world would be a mundane place if we were all the same!

So to celebrate our differences in personality and experiences we launched a competition to find out what motivated our wonderful Care Assistants to join Bluebird Care entitle 'Why I Care...'. Our previous competition 'A Day In The Life Of A Carer' was a roaring success as we know our teams just love sharing their experiences, so this time around there was no doubt that it would be hard to choose a winner- and it sure was difficult. The Winners were all chosen by an anonymous judge who neither recieves care from us or knows the company (hence was not biased!) with the First Prize going to Elaine Deakin. Second place was snapped up by Arran Gandy and third prize went to Gill Laidlaw with highly commended awarded to Debbie Smith and Lauren Duck.

You can read the entries yourself by following the 'Useful Information' Tab and following the 'Resources' link to 'Why I Care' and decide on your personal favourite.
