Carolyn's Story
The support I have received to enable me to progress within my care career has been phenomenal.
I joined the Macclesfield team in September 2018, after caring for children for 22 years. Throughout my time caring for children I achieved my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Childcare and Education, and discovered my passion for delivering high quality, person-centred care.
Bluebird Care Macclesfield felt like a natural progression for me, I was drawn to the role after learning of the person-centred ethos of Bluebird Care. Following my interview with Director Joanna, I knew that the Care Assistant position was right for me, I really enjoyed my training and shadow shifts, and I very quickly felt that I was a valued member of the team.
Since joining Bluebird Care I have achieved my Care Certificate, and progressed from Care Assistant to Supervisor, then later from Supervisor to Senior Supervisor. I have always felt supported in my aspirations to progress within my role, and I feel that this support has helped me to progress to my current position as Deputy Manager at Bluebird Care Macclesfield. It really is so much more than a career in care, I feel honoured to be able to care for our customers and to work within our team. It is a priviledge to witness how our Care Assistants can make a difference to our customers lives, and I get to see this every single day.
