Customer Joan turns 100!

Published: 26/09/2022

Last month customer Joan turned 100 and here she shares with us how she celebrated!

Our team met with customer Joan recently, to find out how it felt to turn 100!

Customer JoanJoan was born in Richmond Surrey in 1922 and after leaving school she worked as a cashier in a bank before serving in the Land Army during the war. After the war had finished, Joan returned to her career working in a bank, this time at Barclays in Piccadilly Circus. Following this, Joan went to work for Barclays Bank in Bahrain, where she met and married her husband, James.

Joan turned 100 on 21st August 2022 and here is what she had to say

How are you finding your care?

I am very happy with the care I receive and love my carers. Overall I am happy with the service.

How does it feel to be a 100?

Live well and reach it gradually, there are no secrets as I can’t believe I got to a 100!

How did you celebrate your 100th Birthday?

I had lots of family around (children, grandchildren and great grandchildren), neighbours and some old work colleagues came to celebrate with me. It was a lovely day but tiring. Lots of balloons and flowers. I also received a card from the late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
