An Extra Special Christmas Gift For Margaret

Christmas is an extra special time for those who work in care and for many of our customers, the only person they may see on Christmas Day is their Care Assistant. Christmas is an extra special time for those who work in care and for many of our customers, the only person they may see on Christmas Day is their Care Assistant.

For one of our customers, it was made all the more special by her Care Assistant, Claire, who visited for the afternoon on Christmas Day.

Customer Margaret's family are currently abroad, so were unable to spend Christmas with her. However, this did not dampen the atmosphere as Care Assistant Claire cooked a delicious lunch of turkey, roast potatoes and roast vegetables which they tucked into together.

After sharing memories of Christmas along with some side-splitting jokes from their crackers, they settled down to watch The Snowman and certainly felt very Christmassy!

Care Manager Halina commented:
We provide a service to our customers every day of the year, and this means that our Care Assistants often sacrifice special time with their family to care for others.

We make sure that each member of staff is able to have a good balance throughout the festive period and Claire certainly did us proud in visiting Margaret!

When Margaret's family knew that they would be abroad, they arranged for Claire to visit in order that she did not spend Christmas Day alone.

Claire explained that her and Margaret had a great time and working on Christmas Day was certainly very special!
