At Bluebird Care we have a strong link with our local job centre and believe in giving people opportunities to develop their skills.
We are pleased to share Samantha’s story, who joined our team after being out of work for over a decade. She has now been a valued part of our team for over six months and finds her role incredibly rewarding.
Samantha first called our offices in August 2017 looking for care work and after an initial discussion, we invited her for an interview to talk a bit more about the role.
Samantha explained how it was her dream to work in care and that she had been out of work for over a decade with no interviews being offered.
We were really inspired by the passion and drive to learn that Samantha showed. We also wanted to help her fulfil her dream and gave Samantha the opportunity to work as part of our team, supporting our customers.
As Samantha had not any previous employment references and a large gap in her CV, we worked with our local Job Centre Plus to support her throughout the process.
When she joined, we provided Samantha with all the training she needed to succeed in her role. In addition to the training provided by Bluebird Care, we linked up with another learning provider who supported Samantha with some supplementary training and support.
We feel honoured to be able to give opportunities to those referred to us and help them achieve their dreams of working in care.
Being a Care Assistant is an incredibly rewarding role. We have very supportive and friendly team here at Bluebird Care Hounslow & Chiswick and you can find out more about the vacancies that we have available here.
