Bluebird Care Greenwich Highly Commended At Prestigious Home Care Awards

Published: 10/05/2021

Bluebird Care Greenwich was highly commended in the ‘End of Life Care Expertise’ category at this year’s Home Care Awards.

The Home Care Awards are the benchmark for business and service excellence in the UK home care sector and recognise those care providers who are making a difference by looking to raise industry standards.

The Greenwich-based home care provider has established an excellent reputation for providing exceptional palliative care for customers in the local area, with healthcare professionals, families and local hospices all recommending the services of the Bluebird Care office.

Bluebird Care Greenwich say that their main priority is to allow their customers to live well within their own home by maximising their quality of life and prioritising their physical and mental wellbeing.

In the face of the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, care assistants followed rigorous infection control measures while carrying out their important work. This ensured that their vulnerable customers were safe within their own homes.

The awards body were also impressed by the home care provider’s ongoing efforts to become among the first ever domiciliary care providers to be accredited by the Gold Standards Framework, an end-of-life training provider who usually deliver their specialist programme to care homes.

The home care provider develops personalised end of life care plans in consultation with the customer and their friends and family. These plans are tailored to meet the specific needs and preferences of each customer, ensuring they are comfortable during this challenging time. This vital work ensures that customers are able to have a dignified passing by working hard to relieve the stresses on their families and taking on the burdens of care until the very end.

Anoop Sekhon, Owner, Bluebird Care Greenwich, said:

“End of life care is one of the most challenging areas of care, involving vulnerable people and their families who require immense support during hugely difficult circumstances. Over the last 12 months, our care assistants have gone above and beyond in providing personalised and dignified care to our customers, and it is a wonderful feeling to have received this recognition for these efforts.

“Our whole team are so happy to have been highly commended at these prestigious awards – what a success!”
