This October 10th, Bluebird Care Greenwich is supporting World Mental Health Day, an initiative aiming to raise awareness of and promote education about mental health issues. The day also advocates people to talk about their feelings and encourages them to look after their own wellbeing.
This year’s theme focuses on ‘Mental Health for All. Greater Investment – Greater Access’. The COVID-19 global pandemic has brought increased levels of anxiety, stress, uncertainty, financial worry, emotional distress, social distancing and isolation. The world has seen an increase in mental health conditions which need to be addressed. The World Health Organisation (WHO) and The World Federation for Mental Health believe that people should have access to mental health care - no matter how poor they are or whether they live in a remote area. They strive to make mental health care available to all, everyone and everywhere.
For the first time ever, The WHO will be hosting a global online Big Event on mental health on 10th October. The event will host numerous mental health advocates, world leaders, celebrity guests and performers. The WHO is inviting everyone to join the campaign, to create social media posts and share your thoughts on how you invest in your own mental health.

Anoop Sekhon, Director of Bluebird Care Greenwich, commented,
“It is important to take care of our mental health wellbeing, especially during difficult times. We can improve our wellbeing by talking to people about the way we are feeling, keeping in contact with friends and family, maintaining a healthy diet and keeping active.
Raising awareness of mental health and the availability of mental health care is vital and Bluebird Care is one hundred percent behind the campaign.”
