We have announced our second pay increase this year to help support our Care Team with the cost-of-living crisis.
Amidst a growing cost-of-living crisis that is impacting the lives of thousands across the UK, we here at Bluebird Care Stafford have launched wide pay increases to reward our Care team and offer more support during these testing times.
With an increase in the price of food, and fuel costs spiking, as well as increasing energy costs, we can appreciate our Care Staff are feeling the crunch. We increased our pay rates earlier this year in February, however, with the cost-of-living crisis growing, a further pay increase was announced in July 2022 for the second time this year.
In addition to increasing the hourly rate of pay, we have also increased travel time and mileage/fuel payments. We will continue to closely monitor the changes in fuel prices and adjust mileage payments accordingly. Care Staff can also submit a tax relief claim to the government for help towards mileage expenses of up to 45 pence per mile.
Speaking of the significant pay rises, Director of Bluebird Care Stafford, Rick Parekh said:
Our Care Team is brilliant, and they truly deserve the pay increase. Not only does it offer more support during these testing times but also recognises and rewards them for the invaluable service they provide to the local community. I am immensely proud of them all!
We know that Health and Social Care currently is facing an exceptionally challenging time at present, however, at Bluebird Care Stafford, we stand positive, strong, and remain confident as one of the highest-paid care providers, as well as one of the very few providers to pay full travel time and mileage separately from the hourly rate.
