Last week 18 of our carers attended a Makaton training session held by Amanda Haslam.

Last week 18 of our carers attended a Makaton training session held by Amanda Haslam.
Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech, in spoken word order. For those who experience the frustration of being unable to communicate meaningfully or effectively, Makaton really can help them.

The training was enjoyed by all who attended.  The group had fun and more importantly, we all learnt a great deal for a one-day-session.  It is something that will most definitely be extremely useful with certain customers.
