Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham celebrate a customer’s 80th birthday in style

The Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham team have been celebrating customer, Cynthia Andrews’ 80th Birthday in style this month, and one of the care assistants even took time out on her day off to ensure she had the best day!     

The Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham team have been celebrating customer, Cynthia Andrews’ 80th Birthday in style this month, and one of the care assistants even took time out on her day off to ensure she had the best day! 

Caroline Sawyer, a Care Assistant for Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham, felt that Cynthia deserved to have her 80th birthday properly celebrated. On Monday 4th February 2019, Caroline and Care Coordinator, Jade Rose from Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham, had a day on the town at Emma’s kitchen in Twyford, enjoying some delicious tea, scones, and sandwiches.
 
Cynthia’s birthday celebrations provided an opportunity for her to get out and about as well as create a closer bond with a few of the people that are there to look after her.
 
Strengthening this bond is important to the carers at Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham; Caroline has been with Bluebird Care for more than six years and understands the importance of nurturing a deep sense of trust between the carer and the customer. The home care provider strives to offer the best care possible for everyone that needs Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham.
 


Caroline Sawyer, Care Assistant, Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham, said:
“I had a lovely afternoon celebration Cynthia’s birthday with her. She is such a wonderful customer, who I always look forward to visiting. She is a very special lady and I was more than happy to take her out for a fun afternoon on her birthday. 
 
“I can’t wait to take our next customer out so they can be spoilt as much as Cynthia has been. I really want to look at taking the tea party to our customers who cannot leave the house, that’s my next project!”
 
Jade Rose, Care Coordinator for Bluebird care Reading and Wokingham, said:
“I really enjoyed celebrating Cynthia’s 80th birthday. It’s lovely to do something so nice for our customers outside of their own home, it was lovely getting to know Cynthia more and hearing her fantastic stories.”
 
Cynthia Andrews, Bluebird Care Reading and Wokingham Customer, said:
“I felt very spoilt and I have really enjoyed having some time out with Caroline and Jade. It was a really lovely afternoon and I was able to take a doggy bag home as well.
 
“While this may be the first time a customer celebrated their birthday by going out on the town, it certainly looks like it won’t be the last.”
