Our wonderful Care Manager Mel sat down with us to talk about her role and her favourite parts of her job!

Please describe your role…

My job is to Manage the day to day running of the care team and office staff ensuring that we can deliver the very best service to our customers.

How long have you worked for Bluebird Care? Did you have a role before the one you are doing now within Bluebird Care? (Progression) What did you do before your time at Bluebird Care?

I am coming up to my 4th year now, I started my career in care when I left school, supporting with day to day tasks such as making drinks and doing laundry.

 

I then left care to have my son. Then I returned to community care and progressed to supervisor.

 

I was then an NVQ assessor training a lot of different carers in both community and care homes.

 

What’s the best part of your job?

Meeting the carers and customers, it’s so rewarding to see how we can support them to live life to the fullest.

What is your favourite memory from your time at Bluebird Care?

I’ve always loved the events we run, especially the last summer event we had. It was lovely to see everybody come together and have a good time!

What’s the best bit of feedback you’ve had from a customer at Bluebird Care?

I was really moved to have heard from my customers that they feel listened to and heard!

 

What would you say to someone who was thinking about a career in care?

It’s hard worth but completely worth it and so rewarding.

What’s your favourite food?

 

That’s easy…Chocolate!!
