Zulal is a truly passionate Care Assistant and we are delighted to have recently spent some time with her hearing about the difference she makes and her wisdom for those wishing to pursue a career in care!

Q. What made you want to work in care?

I used to have a fish and chip shop with a lot of elderly customers and friends who visited regularly. I loved it and when needing to close things down I chose to be a Care Assistant.

Q. Tell us a little about your role

I am a Care Assistant. I like to talk to people, give them their breakfast and a wash if they need it. I will help them with whatever they need; with housework and anything they require.

Q. Tell us a bit about your first job in care

I have been working for Bluebird Care for three and a half years. Bluebird Care was my first job in care and I really love my job!

Q. Can you remember what your first day was like?

I was a bit nervous, but managed and it was excellent! I stayed and am so happy in my role.

Q. Do you find your role rewarding?

Yes! I get loads of compliments form our customers and it really is lovely.

Q. What tips would you give someone considering a career in care?

I would say make sure that you do what the customer asks you to do to please them. In addition, remember to be cheerful.
