Off Out For Lunch With Mary

Published: 26/05/2017

We recently arranged for Care Coordinator Louise to treat one of our customers, Mary, for lunch to a place of her choosing.

Mary, one of our customers, lives on the same farm that she grew up on in the early 1900s, in a house that was built for her and used to be a barn.

Her home has many memories including how during the war, she was not able to go to school so after that, she trained to be a nanny.

She then continued building her career working at Hadlow college looking after students, however when her mother passed away she focused on looking after her father and brother back at the farm.

Mary regularly commented to Louise on the phone how she would love to head out for lunch sometime so we thought that we would offer to take her out.

After asking friends for recommendations, Mary chose to head to Penshurst Place tea rooms for a light lunch where she enjoyed a Special Speldhurst Sausage Bap.

Mary commented:
I really enjoyed myself over lunch and feel that I have been spoilt with the privilege of being invited out. It was lovely to go out particularly as I do not get the chance to do so very often.
Care Coordinator, Louise, said:
I really enjoyed taking Mary out and we had a lovely time chatting about her fascinating history.

As I am usually in the office, however speak with our customers all the time, it is always really good to be able to spend time getting to know them in person!

As a premium homecare provider, we believe in continually doing extra for our customers and as well as taking customers on trips out, we are finalising the arrangements for a celebration afternoon tea!
