A Decade: Celebrating Chris Long's Ten-Year Journey with Bluebird Care

For the past ten years, Chris Long has been a long-term customer at Bluebird Care NEW Devon, and everyone in the team feels immensely privileged to know him.
He is a force to be reckoned with and doesn’t let anything slow him down.
Chris’ journey with Bluebird Care began a decade ago, supported by our live-in care service, Chris is living life without letting anything hold him back. He dislikes the term carer, so he refers to his Live-in care assistants as "housemates that help me out". For him, it means that the formal necessities are in place to support his needs but that each person there "allows me to live the life I want".
Live-in care has been a great choice for Chris as there is always someone there to help with everyday tasks and it enables him to live as independently as possible. Having a Care Assistant in the home also puts everyone at ease and creates a safe place for Chis and peace of mind for his family.
Over the years, Chris has not only entrusted Bluebird Care with his well-being but he has become an integral part of the extended Bluebird Care family. He would frequently visit our previous office in Cowick Street to say hello to everyone. Since we have moved office, it hasn’t been possible for Chris to make that trip, so the team wanted to surprise him with a special party to celebrate Chris, his achievements, and the last 10 years of being a big part of each other’s lives.
As he reflects on the past decade, he speaks with gratitude for the support that Bluebird Care has brought into his life.
A big thank you everyone at Bluebird past and present for supporting me so well. I have met some truly amazing people that count amongst my friends and I cannot imagine my life without you (you know who you are)… And finally, if it was not for Bluebird Care, I wouldn't get out of bed in the morning.
On Friday 2nd February, we held a little surprise party to celebrate Chris’ journey with Bluebird Care and 10 years of friendship. Chris has touched so many of our lives here and has a personality that you could never forget.

I clearly remember meeting Chris for the first time, he was our first Live-in customer for our fledgling business, and I was so keen to get the assessment right. 10 years later he is our longest serving customer and we are delighted to continue to provide his support, to celebrate this anniversary it was such fun to go out for lunch together and laugh about our first meeting.
We are all so lucky to have such an inspiring individual to work with and look forward to supporting Chris over the next 10 years!
