We are proud to be supporting Diabetes Awareness Week 2016

Just about everyone has heard about diabetes. And, with 3.5 million people diagnosed in the UK and a further 549,000 who have the condition but don't yet know it, most of us know a friend or family member living with diabetes. And yet it’s still hugely misunderstood, and there are still so many myths and misconceptions out there.

Diabetes UK is the leading charity that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of every person affected by or at risk of diabetes. As well as being one of the largest funders of diabetes research in the UK, the charity provides information and support to help people with diabetes to manage their condition effectively.

This year, the theme for Diabetes Awareness Week is Setting the record straight

Sara Flint director of Bluebird Care Exeter and East Devon said:
“We are proud to promote diabetes awareness week along with Diabetes UK and all the vital support and information they provide to anyone affected by the condition. We hope that supporting this campaign will help to increase awareness of diabetes and help to break down the myths and misconceptions of the condition in our community.”
