Meet the team
Joanna Lee is the owner and operator of Bluebird Care Cheshire East. The office opened in July 2007, and was one of the earliest in the Bluebird Care network which now has a very strong presence across the UK.
From an early career in nursing, Joanna then spent a number of years in the pharmaceutical sales industry, taking further business and management qualifications. She then went on to manage regional and national hospital sales teams providing medical devices into operating theaters and intensive care units.
When it came time for a venture of her own, Bluebird Care was the exact match for Joanna, enabling her to bring together the experiences of her career to date. The caring attributes associated with nursing added to strong management and leadership skills giving Joanna the necessary insight to direct a busy care service.
Bluebird Care’s principles of high quality care provision, on time, every time accorded with Joanna’s own objectives; to establish an outstanding care service, unrivalled in its continual commitment to excellence in serving the local people of her community.
Despite having now built a sizeable operation, this commitment remains with every new customer treated with dignity and respect, welcomed with open arms to the “Bluebird family”.
Whatever the age or the care requirements of the customer, Joanna firmly believes in looking beyond disability or the changing needs which can come with advancing years.
Everyone is treated as the unique individual that they are, never forgetting that it is a privilege to meet some very wonderful people and be able to help them live life to the full with the support of the service.
It has been, and continues to be the most rewarding role Joanna has held in her career to date!
Jayne Wakefield is Care Manager of Bluebird Care Cheshire East. Jayne joined in 2010 bringing with her a wealth of experience in health and social care. Jayne’s role is to deliver our services safely meeting individual needs with tailored support plans.
Jayne is responsible for the recruitment selection and training of staff. These processes are comprehensive and robust assuring the customers of carers who are competent and confident to deliver an individual and personal service that promotes dignity and maximises independence.
Before coming to Bluebird Care, Jayne worked with Staffordshire local Authority in Health and Social Care residential services for 22 years. The majority of that time in a registered Managers role of a 35 bed residential home for older people.
Working in residential care for older people, I didn’t meet many individuals that chose to come into care. Most people want to remain in the comfort and security of their own home. We all need a home. Not merely somewhere to live, but where we can truly be ourselves; with surroundings that remind us of exactly who we are and where we belong. Working in home care services gives me the opportunity to assist individuals to stay at home with support and also giving friends and family peace of mind.
Jayne is an experienced Social care assessor of QCF levels 2, 3, and 4 in management and holds a Certificate in Social Care, Diploma in welfare studies, NVQ level 4 Management and a Diploma in Management of care services as well as a teaching certificate.
My experiences in training and teaching Health and Social care is invaluable in my current role at Bluebird Care. The quality of the care we deliver has its foundations in the training of the staff to the high standards that our customers deserve.
Jayne’ s experience, qualifications, knowledge and attitude towards care provision aligns with the exacting standard of Bluebird Care and ensures services that are reliable, friendly and flexible.
My aim is to provide a seamless service for our customers, a bespoke service that meets expectations and excels in consistency and quality.
Deputy Manager & Lead Supervisor
Jaqlyn joined Bluebird Care Cheshire East in October 2015 as supervisor, having spent the prior 5 years in support manager roles assisting people with learning difficulties. Her many skills saw her quickly promoted and supported to achieve further qualifications. Now trained to level 5 in management and leadership, Jaqlyn leads the supervisor team and deputises for our Care Manager, Jayne Wakefield.
I am absolutely passionate about caring and I thoroughly enjoy adding my contribution to the outstanding quality service Bluebird care delivers every day.
Jackie joined Bluebird Care Cheshire East in 2010 bringing with her 17 years experience within the care sector. As Care Coordinator, Jackie works hard to ensure that our customers receive continuity of care from our dedicated team of care workers.
Over her career Jackie has held Senior Care & Team Leader roles in nursing & residential care homes, as well as Deputy Community Services Manager in her home county of Somerset. Here in Cheshire Jackie has held a hospital health care position working on general medical wards & also qualified as a Risk Assessor. Her other qualifications include NVQ level 3 in Health & Social Care & Management.
I am a caring person by nature & I take great satisfaction in ensuring a quality service is delivered to our customers, enabling them to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. Working closely with our customers, their families & healthcare professionals together with the knowledge & experience I have gained since joining the care sector has enabled me to understand & meet the needs of our customers to an optimum level.
Kerry joined us on October 31st 2016 bringing much sector experience into the role of Care Coordinator;
I have worked within the care sector for the last 7 years; 3 years as a Support Manager, supporting adults with learning difficulties to maintain their independence in the community. Prior to this I was a Support Assistant for 4 years, gaining knowledge and experience whilst also completing an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care. I am delighted to be on the Bluebird Care Cheshire East management team, adding my skills to those of my colleagues in delivering the outstanding care services for which the company is known.
With no prior experience in the care sector, Paula quickly adapted to her role, taking her qualifications in health and social care and progressing into a supervisor support role. Her passion for caring as well as emerging management skills made promotion to supervisor a natural step. Her role encompasses staff support, supervision and training as well as all aspects of care planning, and customer reviews. Paula is a real asset to our growing supervisor team!
I joined the team at Bluebird Care Cheshire East in October 2012 as a care assistant. I arrived with no experience in social care, but quickly realised that this was the career I should have been in all along!
