Our carers have had a busy time the last few months, so we felt they all deserve a little something special!

In recent years, towards the end of the summer, we hold our annual Bluebird Summer Fun Day; this is an amalgamation of our Bath & NE Somerset and Bristol office staff, carers, customers, and their families. It is a time to celebrate each other and the year we have had so far with music, food, stalls, and games!

And then… Covid – 19 came along and has turned everything upside down and left us with no other option than to cancel 2020’s fun day! This was an incredibly tough decision to make, but as we are currently in the middle of a pandemic, cancelling was the right decision to make for everyone. We have included photos from some of our previous Summer Fun Days so you can get an idea of how much fun they usually are.

So if we can’t celebrate with a fun day, what should we do instead? We thought it would be a wonderful idea to buy a gift for each one of our carers for all their hard work, compassion, and dedication, especially since March.

As you can see from the photos above, we have bought a wide range of gifts for our carers to choose from, such as:

  • Echo dots
  • Amazon Fire 7s
  • Portable mini speakers
  • Digital cameras
  • Dash Cams
  • Straighteners
  • Hair dryers
  • Coffee Makers
  • Smart watches
  • Vanity mirrors
  • Make up sets
  • Arts & crafts sets
  • Amazon vouchers

Our carers work hard every day, but it is safe to say that since the Covid – 19 pandemic began, they have been working even harder to ensure our customers are safe and comfortable at all times and receive the same high standards of care we pride ourselves on.

We announced to the carers that they can come and collect their gifts earlier this week, and we have had several of them come into the office to collect theirs and as always, pose for a photo for us!

Our carer Ben (pictured above) is always making us laugh and initially had another present choice before deciding on the coffee machine, and he was more than happy with his photo being used on social media, so here is the photo for your viewing pleasure!

Again, we think it is worth reiterating how thankful we are to have such a lovely team of carers, and how they prove to us that “teamwork makes the dream work
