Newhaven is home to the RNLI Lifeboat station, one of the oldest in the County founded in 1803, prior to the birth of the RLNI. The town has played vital roles in both World Wars and the Fort is still available to visit. The infamous Lord Lucan’s car was last seen in Norman Road, Newhaven prior to his disappearance.
