Fundraising for Macmillan

Gary Johnson, as part of a team consisting of crew, family and friends on the Newhaven Lifeboat embarked on two difficult challenges to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Gary Johnson, as part of a team consisting of crew, family and friends on the Newhaven Lifeboat embarked on two difficult challenges to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

One of the Newhaven Lifeboat crew, Gavin Butcher, was recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer.  Gavin has asked for all funds raised to go to Macmillan Cancer Support who are providing exceptional support for him and his family.

The first event was a sponsored cycle ride along the complete length South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne from July 13-14.

Gary completed the second event, a 17 mile off road walk along a stretch of the South Downs Way from Ditchling Beacon on Saturday July 21.
