The Mum's that inspire our staff

Published: 02/03/2024

For International Women's Day we asked our staff if they would like to share with us who inspires them.

"My mum is my inspiration, she’s brought me up to be the best I can be.
She’s beautiful, caring and kind, she’s worked hard all her life and so deserves the lovely holidays she goes on every year ❤️
In many ways I’m just like my mum, only I can’t bake cakes as good as her !!"
It sounds like she deserves all the holidays in the world! Feel free to practice your baking skills and share them with the rest of us!!!!

we were really moved by Cat's touching words about her Mum after we asked our staff to tell us about someone who has inspired them for International Women's Day
She sounds like the kindest and most loving person. We don't have any doubt in our minds that you have made her proud.
Thank you so much for sharing Cat ❤️❤️❤️
"My mum Ellen who was a very giving lady fostering babies for many years, including myself, and ultimately adopting.
My mum had many "social" jobs working in a home for battered children (as it was once known in the 70s), she trained to become an NNEB (nursery nurse,) and in her late 40s trained to become an SRN (nurse), a feat in itself and especially as my mum is dyslexic.
She nursed my dad and her 2nd husband during their final years with such love devotion and care .
My mum is a selfless loving lady who thrives on helping others, I'd like to think even if I offer people half of what she does I've done a good job. She taught me to always look for the positive in negative situations, however hard it is to find it.
She's given me strength when I've doubted myself and amazing love, my mum now lives with Alzheimer's. I miss my mum and I hope somewhere deep inside her, I've made her as proud of me as I am her x "
