A few words from Nicola our Mental Health Nurse

For World Mental Health Day, our Mental Health Nurse Nicola had some words to share:
"When someone approaches you about their mental health, you may be concerned about saying the wrong thing - It's not easy to have difficult conversations.
I would suggest explaining to them - 'I may not have the answers for you now but if you leave it with me, I am going to try and get the right support for you.'
From my own experience people will always remember if someone tried to offer help than not. We don’t need to be eloquent in our dialogue. People who are struggling sometimes just need someone to stand with them.
If you need guidance on your or another person's mental health please call NHS 111 option 2. Samaritans can also be called on 116 123.
Online CBT is provided free of charge for helping you feel better and cope better – www.therapyforyou.co.uk "
